MNF Week 8

The Patriots just keep finding ways to win. If you didn't think Tom Brady was a hall-of-famer, you should now. He can win with any receiver.

How dumb was that race at halftime? What a waste of time! That just showed how much the broadcast has gone downhill since Tirico and Kornheiser got onboard. I wish ESPN would go back to the old booth.

NFL Week 8

Parcells looks like a genius. Jerry Jones is now eating crow. Tony Romo was selected as a Rock Star for the game last night. There's no way Bledsoe could have moved around like that. After 14 years, it looks like its time for retirement.

The Cards imploded again. Green just can't seem to motivate them.

The Falcons are officially for real, knocking off both the Bengals and Steelers in back to back weeks. Big Ben looked bad again this week. Cowher should have started Batch. I still think Ben hasn't fully gotten back after the motocycle crash in June.

The Colts just keep on winning. You know Payton will be in the Hall of Fame.

MNF Week 7

Tiki Barber announced his retirement after this season. I had no idea he was valedictorian of his high school class and had a 4.0 at Virginia. With his good looks, charisma, and articulation, he should have no trouble working in broadcasting. I will miss seeing him play, but I understand what he's doing. The MNF interview with Jerome Bettis struggling to walk down the stairs last year was super scary.

Bill Parcells looked whipped last night at the post game interview. Makes you wonder if Jerry Jones brought in T.O. to run off coach Parcells. You couldn't really fire an icon like that - you have to make him want to leave. What better way to do that than to have the media harrass him all the time about T.O.?

NFL Week 7

Dennis Green might as well start packing. To lose to a bad Raiders team yesterday after how well the Cardinals played Monday night is a disgrace - total lack of team focus. The Cards have too much talent for that.

What can you say about the Chiefs? You never know what team is going to step out onto the field. This week it was the good one. Talk about inconsistant.

Who Dey is back. I didn't expect them to win with the injuries. It's nice to see the Bengals' stadium full with no paper bags.

Charlie Batch did a good job replacing Big Ben. If only the Lions had kept him instead of going with Joey Harrington. I guess that's why Marriuchi is on NFL Net instead of coaching.

MNF Week 6

Whatta game! That's the best game on Monday night for years. The Bears showed the heart of a champion. Champions face adversity and win. Go ahead and pencil Urlacher for the Hall of Fame when he retires. What a fantastic player!

Dennie Green better get rid of those kickers like now. You can't keep someone who punts 22 yards and someone who can't make a forty yarder to win the game. The O line didn't help either. If Green doesn't make changes quick, he's for sure gone in the off season.

NFL Week 6

The Steelers stepped up and are now second in their division after the Ravens fell apart and the Bengal bungled an easy win. A true champion can rise again after adversity. We'll wait and see about these teams that lost to previously winless ones yesterday.

Now the Raiders are the only winless team. I'm not sure they'll win a single game. The shake-up at the end of the season should be high-camp entertainment.

Poem from EEKU Selected for Inclusion in Dwarf Stars 2006

I'm just thrilled. A poem from my poetry collection EEKU was selected for inclusion in Dwarf Stars 2006, an anthology of the best short-short (ten lines or less) science fiction, fantasy, and horror poetry published in 2005. This is the high point of my day for sure.

MNF Week 5

I was shocked. I really thought the Ravens would win. McNair had a poor performance and the Bronco D stepped it up. A great win for Denver and a lucky break for the Steelers who now have a chance to dig themselves out of a pretty big hole.

NFL Week 5

The Giants did what the Steelers couldn't - step up to the plate. Big Ben hasn't bounced back from that accident it seems, and now it's too late. With a 1-3 recored in their division they can kiss the playoffs goodbye. I wonder if Ben can come back.

TO was a wipeout. The ball wasn't thrown to him much. I wonder if it was by design.

MNF Week 4

Well, that result was to be expected. The Packers don't have enough talent around Brett Favre to be effective this year.

I wish Mike Patrick would return to the booth. Joe Theismann is the only one worth a kick.

NFL Week 4

It's official - the Bears are for real. Barring injury, I predict they'll be in the Super Bowl.

I didn't see the Dallas-Titans game, but I think Jeff Fisher should suspend the player that stepped on the Dallas player for the year and kick him off the team. The Eagles got rid of TO and he didn't even kick anyone in the head.

Chad Pennington played great. I'm not surprised he's being considered as the comeback player of the year. He sort of did it at Marshall. He was originally a third string quarterback there his freshman year until the two guys ahead of him got hurt. That's how he got his chance. Pruitt benched him in place of Eric Kresser (now in the hall of whos) for a year for a reason I still don't understand. It certainly wasn't Chad's ability. Why Coach wanted to play him is a mystery. I guess it doesn't matter now.
